A wannabe graffiti artist, Phil got his start in typography by drawing letters on his notebooks. After taking art and photo classes in high school and finding out there was a profession called Graphic Design, he was surprised to find he could draw and paint his way through college.
A 2001 Graphic Design graduate from James Madison University, he applied his traditional art background to web and interactive design. Phil has brought his web design expertise to several small design studios in the Washington, DC area, including Fuszion Collaborative of Alexandria, VA., as well as working in-house at large companies. A well-rounded designer, Phil also works with video and 3d modeling/animation while keeping in touch with his roots in traditional media. His strong interest in typography fosters his bold, recognizable style no matter which medium he works with.
Phil has worked on projects for Coca-Cola, PBS Kids, Discovery Networks, XM Satellite Radio, and AOL.

I ran into Alain, an architectural photographer in Washington, DC., in my office building as he was lugging around his Hasselblad with a digital back. He asked me to pose for this shot, probably so I would stop asking him about his camera.
